This is my website on the internet

We are doing tests on neocities for our 9CSI internet website course. We will be writing descriptions about different things connected to the internet, they are shown below.

User

The user is the person that controls the device that is being connected to the internet. They acess and suppourt apps/programs, Commerce, Entertainment and Information. They can literally be anyone in the world, from the ceo of a huge global empire, to an eskimo in the artic circle.

Browser

The browser is a download that helps you get to the website you wish to, with out having to type in the i.p adress. A few well-known browsers are: opera, fire fox, chrome and safari. You use them to search, browse and interact.

Device

A device is the piece of technology that you use to acess the internet, they could be a PC, Phone or a Tablet, to give a few examples. There are many different versions of devices, e.g the new apple phone 7s.

ISP

ISP stands for intenet service provider, an internet server (according to wikipedia) is an organization that provides services accessing and using the Internet. Internet service providers may be organized in various forms, such as commercial, community-owned, non-profit, or otherwise privately owned. I see that an ISP is a orginisation that provides the internet to people in a certian area, it can be prophit or non-profit.

Webpage

A webpage is a page on the internet that people can acess, like this page! They acess a page by searching it up on a browser, or, if they know it, can type in the url. They can be about litteraly anything, from the categories of a good potato growth, to the the different categories of hurricanes to, even, a webpage made by a year nine at tawa college for his internet asessment.

World Wide Web

The world wide web is : An information system on the Internet which allows documents to be connected to other documents by hypertext links, enabling the user to search for information by moving from one document to another. Baiscally it is the place on the internet where the webpages are stored on.

Modem

Modem stands for modulator-demodulator (or de modulator-terminator which I personally think sounds better) is a network hardware that modulates one or more carrier wave signals to encode digital information for transmission and demodulates signals to decode the transmitted information. The goal is attempting to produce a signal that can be transmitted easily and decoded to reproduce the original digital data.

Network

A computer network is a telecommunications network which allows nodes to share resources. In computer networks, networked computing devices exchange data with each other using a data link. The connections between nodes are established using either cable media or wireless media.

Fiber Optic Cables

The cables send binary in bits and bytes Speed of connection is measured by megabytse per second Cables used to only be copper, but they arent as fast as fiber optic cables, that is why people are "upgrading" from copper cables to fiber optic cables. Whereas the "old" copper cables processed the bits and bytes too slow for this growing world, so the copper cables are slowly being replaced by the much faster fibre optic cables.
